Canada launches $189M Black Entrepreneurship Program to empower immigrant and diverse business communities across southern Ontario
Canada invests $189 million through 2030 to support Black-led organizations and immigrant entrepreneurs with enhanced access to capital, mentorship, and business training across southern Ontario.
The Government of Canada has announced renewed funding through the Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund, providing critical support to Black-led organizations and entrepreneurs, including immigrant business owners, across southern Ontario. The $189 million initiative, extending through 2030, aims to reduce barriers for Black Canadian entrepreneurs by enhancing access to capital, mentorship, networking opportunities, and business training services. Minister Evan Solomon emphasized the program's role in building an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that strengthens communities and drives economic growth. With over 24,000 Black entrepreneurs already supported and more than $70.6 million in loans approved, the program demonstrates Canada's commitment to fostering diversity and empowering immigrant and minority-owned businesses to achieve long-term success.
