Immigration New Brunswick offers support for Atlantic Immigration Program endorsees requiring work permit extensions

Immigration New Brunswick provides letters of support for C18 work permit extensions to help AIP endorsees awaiting permanent residence decisions amid extended IRCC processing times.

As processing times at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continue to extend, certain endorsees under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) may need extensions to their current work permits. To address this challenge, Immigration New Brunswick (ImmigrationNB) is now providing letters of support for C18 closed work permits, offering a temporary solution while endorsees await final decisions on their permanent residence applications. It is important to note that AIP endorsees are not eligible for the Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) program. Additionally, ImmigrationNB requires notification of any employment changes, including job loss, employer changes, or position modifications, as these may impact program eligibility and endorsement certificates.
